How much do summer meals cost?

There is NO cost!

All summer meals are FREE of charge to all kids & teens, 18 years of age and younger, at participating summer meals locations.

If summer meals are free, who pays for them?

Summer meals are paid for by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The Connecticut State Department of Education works with the USDA to reimburse sponsors for the summer meals they provide to kids & teens, under 18, at participating summer meals locations.

Do I (and/or kids and teens) have to bring any proof of my income, assets, or employment status to the location?

No. You do not need to proof of income, assets, or employment status to the summer meals location or at any time for your kids & teens to receive free nutritious meals at participating summer meals locations
